Staff

Staff members assist both the Commission and the Director in fulfilling their mandates. Staff members provide a wide range of services to the public. This includes providing information about the NWT Human Rights Act to the general public and to parties involved in the complaint process.

Deborah McLeod, Deputy Director

Deborah McLeod received her doctorate from the University of Alberta in 1996. Prior to taking up her position with the Commission in 2004, Deborah held senior management positions in planning, communications, and strategic initiatives.

Isabel Gauthier, Human Rights Officer

Isabel Gauthier worked as a community organizer in various grass root organizations for eight years. Her interest in human rights stems from her studies in Leadership and Cultural Research. Through her experience with women, youth and cultural organizations, Isabel worked towards social change by creating awareness around such issues as poverty, marginalization and community development. She started working for the Commission in 2004.

Carolyn MacKay, Human Rights Officer

Carolyn MacKay has worked for the Commission since 2006.  She holds Master of Arts and  Bachelor of Education degrees.  Prior to the Commission, Carolyn worked as an educator, researcher, and information and support coordinator at a disability organization.

Linda Noseworthy, Administrative Officer

Linda Noseworthy arrived in the Northwest Territories from Newfoundland in 1996. Her previous employment experience has been with the municipal, private, and non-government sectors. Her formal education includes bookkeeping and administrative training. Linda started to work for the Commission in 2009. Linda not only brings a wide variety of experiences and skills but also a mature outlook to her role in this office as Administrative Officer.
