Fonts

The following fonts are used on this website:

For Inuktitut: Pigiarniq (PC and Mac TrueType)

For Dene languages: WinMac (PC and Mac TrueType)

Note: These downloads are only provided as a backup option in case your computer does not automatically download and display all the pages under the “General Information” section in the correct font.  If you are able to read all those pages, you do not need to download the fonts.

Instructions:

Download the compressed file to your hard disk (right click and choose “Save Target As…” or “Downoad Linked File As…”). Open the ZIP files by double-clicking. In Windows this should open them in Windows Explorer and you can then drag them out of the ZIP file onto your desktop or a new folder. On Mac OS they should decompress into a new folder with the same name as the ZIP file. If you are unable to open the ZIP files you may need to download decompression software: WINZIP for Windows or STUFFIT Expander for Macintosh.

On Windows, open the Fonts menu from Control Panels and install the new fonts by choosing “Install New Fonts…” from the File menu. Navigate to the location on your hard drive where you downloaded the fonts and click OK. Refresh your Internet browser.

On Macintosh OS X 10.3 or newer, double click the font files and choose “Install Font” from the font preview dialog box. If double-clicking does not open them in Font Book and prompt you to install, right click (or hold CTRL and click with a single button mouse) and choose Open With -> Font Book. Restart your Internet browser.
